It also collects anonymous data about how they are currently feeling. Employees will build the skills needed to recognize and respond to co-workers who may be experiencing a non-crisis or crisis mental health or substance use challenge through this instructor-led course – and leave with a certificate. A network of employees will feel confident that they are the company’s primary resource for supporting the mental well-being of their colleagues and will develop an action plan to fulfill their role as an MHFA Champion. The National Council on Mental Well-Being is a national nonprofit organization that drives policy and social change on behalf of more than 3,400 mental health and substance use treatment organizations and the more than 10 million children, adults, and families they serve.

The National Council on Mental Wellness brought Mental Health First Aid to America in 2008. Since then, our instructors have trained over 3 million first responders from all 50 states and US territories. We aim to train 1 in 15 people in America to MHFA, ensuring that everyone has a close friend they can turn to when experiencing mental health or substance use issues.
