Adobe and Microsoft partner to bring new generative AI capabilities to marketers as they work in Microsoft 365 apps

Adobe and Microsoft are partnering to connect Adobe Experience Cloud workflows and insights with Microsoft Copilot to deliver generative, AI-powered capabilities that enable marketers to increase collaboration, efficiency and creativity.

SAN JOSE, CA and REDMOND, WA – March 26, 2024 – Today at Adobe Summit—the world’s largest digital experience conference—Adobe (Nasdaq:ADBE) and Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT) announced plans to bring Adobe Experience Cloud workflows and insights into Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 to help marketers break down application and data silos and more effectively manage day-to-day workflows. These new integrated capabilities will bring relevant marketing insights and workflows from Adobe Experience Cloud and Microsoft Dynamics 365 applications to Microsoft Copilot, supporting marketers as they work with tools like Outlook, Microsoft Teams and Word to develop creative briefs, create content, managing content approvals, delivering experiences, and more.

“Demand for personalized content across social media, mobile and other fast-growing channels is exploding, pushing marketers to drive greater efficiency and productivity in their daily work,” said Amit Ahuja, senior vice president, Digital Experience Business at Adobe. “Marketers spend much of their day working with Adobe and Microsoft applications, and the partnership provides a unique offering for marketing teams, streamlining the day-to-day tasks of planning, collaborating, creating and executing campaigns.”

“Microsoft and Adobe share a common goal of enabling marketers to focus on the work that matters most – creating impactful campaigns and improving the customer experience,” said Jared Spataro, corporate vice president, AI at Work, Microsoft. “By integrating contextual marketing insights from Adobe Experience Cloud and Dynamics 365 applications into the workflow through Copilot for Microsoft 365, we are achieving our shared goal while helping marketers streamline their efforts, remove barriers, and achieve exceptional results.”

The marketing discipline is complex and consists of specialized roles that require specialized tools—from designing brand content and managing campaigns to tracking audience information across channels with internal and external partners and reporting on results. This means marketers face challenges working in silos and across applications, which can lead to disparity and negatively impact speed and productivity. According to a recent study conducted by Microsoft[1]43 percent of marketing and communications professionals report that switching between digital apps and programs is disruptive to their creativity.

Together, Adobe and Microsoft will address these challenges. Initial opportunities will focus on meeting the needs of marketers, who often work across multiple internal and external teams as they manage campaign goals, status and actions. Capabilities will relate to scenarios including:

  • Strategic insights into workflow: Enriched with relevant campaign information from Adobe Experience Cloud applications such as Adobe Customer Journey Analytics and Adobe Workfront combined with Dynamics 365, the Copilot experience for Microsoft 365 helps marketers get quick information and updates in Outlook, Teams and Word. Marketers can ask questions to get the status of a marketing project, understand the performance of a campaign, outstanding approvals and actions to be taken, or the audience and KPIs that are defined in the latest campaign brief.
  • Create campaign summaries, presentations, website updates and emails with relevant context: Marketers can become even more data-driven without having to turn to multiple tools or people for information. Marketing insights from Adobe and Dynamics 365 will be available in Copilot for Microsoft 365 to create briefs, contractor review presentations, or any type of report or message. Marketers can also create images with AI-generating Adobe Firefly or copy for marketing experiences through Adobe Experience Manager sites; marketers can create content in Word that is published directly to channels such as web and mobile.
  • Keep projects moving with notifications and summaries in context: Often, marketers will need to log into multiple apps, emails, and chats to compile project status—from feedback and approvals to changes to work items or due dates. These integrated capabilities, informed by Adobe Workfront, can work within these applications to create notifications informed by relevant marketing data to keep you on top of any changes and actions you need to take.
